I graduated from ASU in 2024 with BA’s in English (Creative Writing) and Mechanical Engineering. When I started as a freshman, I was only enrolled in engineering, but as a few semesters passed, I failed to truly settle in. As much as I love science, and physics specifically, I couldn’t see myself fitting in as an engineer. Writing is my strongest passion, and always has been.
My novel Vestigials was developed during a worldbuilding class at ASU, and I wrote and presented the first draft of it as my Honors thesis project. I am incredibly grateful for the help and advice of Jenny Irish and Matt Bell, who served on my thesis committee over a chaotic couple of semesters.
Before leaving ASU, I served as Science and Technology Editor at The State Press, the university’s student press, for two years. There, I fell in love with the editing process and working with writers on their stories. I hope to continue this professionally, either in the journalism space or the creative writing space.
Outside of writing, I’m a nerd in every sense of the word! I’ve been playing video games my whole life, Dungeons and Dragons since about 2015, and LARP since 2021. I owe much of my storytelling skillset to roleplaying games and the incredible people that I’ve had the privilege of playing them with.
